The scope of collection of small rechargeable batteries (lithium ion batteries, etc.), has been expanded from April 2025.
Chatan Town, as a cooperating municipality of JBRC, has been collecting small rechargeable batteries of JBRC member companies at the Chatan Town Health Consultation Center. So starting in April 2025, the scope of collection will be expanded to include batteries that do not have a recycle mark, as well as swollen or damaged batteries. For those who live in Chatan Town, will be conducted after confirmation at the Chatan Town Health Consultation Center counter.
In addition, the Kurahama Sanitation Facility Association, where waste is brought in, has confirmed that small rechargeable batteries have been mixed in with burnable and non-burnable waste since April 2025. Please make sure you do not mix small rechargeable batteries with other waste!

How to dispose of small rechargeable batteries
1_At first, If the battery can be discharge, perform a discharge process.
2_Next, Cover the terminals with vinyl tape or similar to insulate them.
3_At last, Bring it to the Chatan Town Health Consultation Center (please show your ID ).
